Halls and flatmates
Lead with getting more outfits from the wardrobes already in the flat: nights out, borrowing and styling each other.
KOTS field guide · V0.8
This is the approved structure for an in-person introduction. Learn the truth of it, then speak like yourself. A good conversation ends when the person declines.
Product proof
This 52-second launch film establishes the product story. It is not your training walkthrough. Watch it, then complete the practical demonstration below in the live product.
Paid product-fluency lab
Your Ambassador Pro access should be active before this work begins. If the Hub does not show Pro active, stop and report it. Product setup, practice and the witnessed field-readiness check are paid work.
Open the timed live-product demonstrationStart with an ordinary home photograph. Show the change into a clean Studio image, then open the owned wardrobe.
Use a real occasion and the weather. Explain why the result works, or show how you correct it when it misses.
Run the private try-on and describe it as a decision aid, never a promise of exact fit.
Put work, lectures, a social or travel into Planner and show how wardrobe availability changes the answer.
Ask a specific question, push back once and show how the conversation carries context forward.
Scan your own QR on another phone. Confirm the attributed page opens, the correct price is shown and the person can decide without you collecting details.
The same conversation · 15-second opening
“KOTS is a personal stylist and smart wardrobe that helps someone decide what to wear from the clothes they own, then judge which additions deserve a place. If you work in fashion, there's an optional direct-referral programme you can apply for. Would you like to see the 52-second film?”
This is the opening version of the five moves below, not a different pitch. If they lean in, expand the same facts. If they don't, thank them and stop.
The full script
The words in quotes are speakable as written — who you are, who KOTS are, who is behind it, what the product does, and how the money honestly works. Learn the beats, not the lines; every sentence stays inside the approved claims below.
“Hi — I'm [name]. I'm a Student Ambassador for KOTS, which means I'm paid by them to introduce the product to people in fashion retail. Have you got two minutes? If not, no problem at all.”
“My whole job is showing people like you what KOTS is and letting you decide if it's interesting. I don't sign anyone up, I don't take anyone's details — if you like it, you register yourself.”
“KOTS — Killers on the Street — is a personal stylist and smart wardrobe app. It was founded by Rami Al-Bakri and it's built by Mindlace, a London-based technology firm. It's a real product with a real team behind it.”
“You photograph the clothes you already own, and KOTS gives you a personal stylist who actually knows your wardrobe. Every morning it can build you an outfit from your own clothes — for your day, your plans, today's weather.”
“The bit people don't expect: it starts from what you own, not from a shop. It can help choose what to wear tonight from your own rail, plan outfits around your calendar and, when your stylist identifies a useful addition, search KOTS's covered catalogue for current offers.”
“You do this for strangers all day — you can tell in a glance what works. KOTS makes that judgement worth something outside your shift. Customers already ask you what to buy; this is that, with your own code on it.”
“There's an Industry Ambassador programme you can apply for. Your private link gives someone an extra 10% off their first annual term. When a direct introduction becomes a durable paying member, you can earn 25% of Net Receipts from the qualifying payment. There are no shifts, quotas, contact lists or paid team beneath you. The page shows the exact price, renewal and reward terms before you decide.”
“Want the one-minute product film, or just scan this and read it later? And if it's not for you, genuinely no worries.”
Your first two weeks
Capture your own wardrobe, wear the daily outfit, run a try-on, plan a week and talk to your stylist. You cannot pitch a magic you have not felt. Log this as paid onboarding time.
Demonstrate the product, explain the price and relationship, handle four common objections, recover cleanly if a feature is slow and finish after a decline. This is paid practice. If you need another run, you get more training, not a penalty.
Aim for 8 qualified introductions, 4 attributed Industry Ambassador applications, 2 activated Industry Ambassadors and 1 student candidate. These are coaching targets, not conditions of pay. Log the work and let the verified stages show where the funnel is breaking.
Aim for 5 activated Industry Ambassadors, 3 who have made a first share, 2 members at first value and 1 submitted student application. An introduction is not the finish. Use permission-based support to help each suitable person reach the next stage.
How extensions work
The opening paid assignment runs four weeks. Around week three, KOTS reviews the record you have already been keeping: paid-time discipline, the quality and volume of your introductions, how many sourced Industry Ambassadors reached ‘ready to share’ and made their own first shares, linked first-paying members and clean conduct against this guide. A strong record can support a fresh written assignment, then later an opportunity to lead a local team. Truly exceptional people may be considered for future roles as KOTS grows. None of these outcomes is automatic. Continuation is KOTS's decision, made from the record, never from a promise, and never a surprise, because you can see every input yourself on your ambassador page.
What the best do
Why Month 1 matters
The Month 1 operating expectation is at least 15 distinct linked first-paying members. The planning route is roughly 64 substantive retail conversations, 16 field-ready Industry Ambassadors and a mix of direct university members and members reached through the Industry Ambassadors you sourced.
The reason is practical. If this programme covers its own fully loaded cash cost inside the same month, the next cohort can be funded from customer revenue instead of asking investors to fund every expansion. That keeps more founder time on the product and its members, rather than a fundraising process that can consume months.
This is a programme target, not a claim that every KOTS company cost is covered or that outside capital will never be useful. Your wages never depend on a sale. Results inform coaching and any human decision about a separate future assignment.
Your first 72 hours
Required training, preparation, outreach, follow-up and reporting stay inside authorised paid time. This sequence tells you what to do first; your manager confirms when that time is scheduled.
Confirm Ambassador Pro, complete the live product-fluency lab and rehearse the handover in paid time. If Pro or a core product moment is not working, stop and report it.
Use up to ten personal messages with one genuine reason, or choose a relevant hall, course, society or careers group. Disclose that you work with KOTS and use your tracked page.
Make appropriate, permission-led introductions to people who work in fashion or retail. Show one real product moment, offer the private Industry Ambassador page and stop cleanly after a decline.
Follow up only with people who replied or asked for more. Check verified scans and stages, record every question or objection, then use the evidence to choose the next paid action.
The same conversation · 45-second version
People often buy a good piece and still struggle to work it into the rest of their wardrobe.
KOTS is a personal stylist and smart wardrobe that helps someone decide what to wear from the clothes they own, then judge which additions deserve a place.
Show one real moment: a wardrobe becoming usable, a stylist explaining a choice, or an outfit built for the weather and occasion.
Eligible fashion and retail people can apply for an optional direct-referral partnership. Their private link gives a customer an extra 10% off the first annual term. There are no required shifts, no contact lists and no paid team beneath them.
Would you like the one-minute product film, or would scanning the page be easier?

Your university network
Your attributed student page explains the full styling service, halls and shared wardrobes, assessment centres, dates, socials and the First Week Guarantee. A verified UK student introduced by an Ambassador pays £67.49 for year one, then £74.99 while verification stays current. Disclose that you work with KOTS and may benefit from qualifying introductions.
Lead with getting more outfits from the wardrobes already in the flat: nights out, borrowing and styling each other.
Use interviews, assessment centres, placements and presentations. Demonstrate one real look for the next important day.
Offer a short wardrobe clinic around a real event. Fashion, careers, performance, sustainability and international-student groups have different reasons to care.
These are the strongest warm bridge between both sides of the programme. Show KOTS first, then let them read the Industry Ambassador relationship privately.
Share what KOTS chose, what you changed and why. A real judgement is more credible than a generic advert.
Use a genuine personal reason. Send the attributed student page, disclose that you work with KOTS and follow up only when the person responds.

Objection handlers
These are boundaries, not verbal traps. Answer the concern in front of you. If the answer is no, thank the person and stop.
No. An Industry Ambassador can earn only from their own direct, qualifying referrals under the published terms. There is no paid team beneath them. The page shows the relationship before anyone applies.
Participation is personal and optional. Workplace sharing depends on the rules of your employer and store. You can read the programme privately and decide whether it fits.
No. You never give KOTS somebody else’s contact details. A person chooses whether to scan your QR or open your link, then registers themselves.
KOTS begins with the person’s own wardrobe and the decision in front of them. Shopping appears when an addition has a clear wardrobe role.
The current terms show the exact rate, qualification rule, refund treatment and payout timing. Earnings depend on direct, durable member value and are never guaranteed.
There are no required shifts or quotas for an Industry Ambassador. The product film takes 52 seconds, and the application explains the relationship before asking for a decision.
You may state the published extra 10% first-term saving on an eligible annual rate. KOTS does not guarantee broader savings, fit, style outcomes or earnings.
Retail questions
It brings a personal stylist and a smart wardrobe together around the clothes a member already owns.
The starting point is not a feed or a shop. It is the member’s wardrobe, occasion, weather and real decision.
No. It gives the customer better wardrobe context. A good retail person still brings judgement, product knowledge and human care.
The programme is for eligible adults with credible fashion or retail experience who complete KOTS verification and accept the current terms.
Not for an Industry Ambassador. Student Ambassadors are different: they are paid workers with paid scheduled activity.
The QR opens a public KOTS page with the Industry Ambassador’s code attached. Registration and any qualifying value remain attributable without the Ambassador collecting personal data.
The standard UK route is £89.99 for year one, then £99.99. A verified UK student pays £67.49 for year one, then £74.99 while verification stays current. The extra 10% applies once and does not stack.
A direct member payment that settles, remains after the stated refund and chargeback window and passes the programme’s eligibility and fraud controls.
Yes. An Industry Ambassador can stop sharing and revoke optional Student Ambassador support. Existing payment rights follow the governing terms.
If a question concerns tax, immigration status, a person's employer policy, eligibility, payout disputes or privacy rights, do not improvise. Use the KOTS support route and record the question.
Student questions
The student offer is an annual personal-styling service: £67.49 for year one through an Ambassador, then £74.99 while verification stays current. The page states the renewal before checkout.
KOTS is paid-first. The page shows the real product and the First Week Guarantee: complete the stated first-week steps, and if it is not for you, ask within the published window.
Start with the pieces you actually wear and add the rest in short sessions. Do not promise a fixed completion time; show how you captured your own wardrobe.
A first answer is the start of the styling conversation. Explain what missed, change the brief and judge the correction. Never promise a perfect result.
KOTS provides a stylist team and a continuing in-product conversation. Do not invent who handled a specific response; show the experience that is live in front of you.
The member controls their account and images under the published privacy terms. Do not answer a detailed privacy or deletion question from memory; open the policy or escalate it.
The £74.99 rate continues only while student verification remains current. If verification lapses, the next renewal uses the standard rate shown before purchase.
Open the current plan terms before answering. Allowances can change by plan and term, so never quote a number from memory.
